The LNG tank is designed with a two-stage safety valve to protect against overpressure. In the case of overpressure, the first to open is the main safety valve (opening pressure of 1.59Mpa,230psi), whose role is to release the pressure rise due to the normal heat leakage loss of the insulation layer and support, or the vacuum destroyed and accelerated heat leakage under fire conditions caused by the pressure rise. The secondary safety valve (opening pressure of 2.41Mpa,350psi) has a higher pressure set point than the main safety valve. The secondary safety valve is activated when the main safety valve fails or becomes blocked.
