European harmonized standards are generally formulated by technical organizations such as the European Commission for Standardization (CEN) and the European Electrotechnical Standardization Commission (CENELEC). Harmonized standards are not mandatory, but if enterprises adopt harmonized standards, it means that they have met the basic requirements of the corresponding directives. EN13445 Non-flame contact pressure vessels is a European harmonized standard corresponding to 97/23/EC, and its main contents include: general principles, materials, design, manufacture, inspection and test, safety system and cast iron vessels. Pressure vessels designed and manufactured according to EN13445 are automatically considered to meet the requirements of 97/23/EC.
