Liquefied petroleum gas is a gas produced in the production process of oil and natural gas. It is colorless and odorless at room temperature. Its main components are composed of methane/butane/ethane/propane, etc., but why does the LPG we smell have? The pungent smell is because the manufacturer of the gas has added mercaptan, the purpose is that after the LPG volatilizes or leaks, the user can quickly make a judgment, so why is the liquid liqiuid petroleum gas stored in the storage tank? ? Because the volume of liquefied petroleum gas increases by 250 to 300 times when it changes from liquid to gas, liquid LPG is easier to store and transport, and takes up less space.

The storage tank of liquefied petroleum gas has relatively high requirements. The storage tank must be a pressure vessel of 1.77Mpa, and the filling rate of the liquefied petroleum gas storage tank should be less than or equal to 95%. After the construct of LPG storage tank, Manufacturer have to do MPI(Magnetic Particle inspection),air tight test, Entire heat treatment, Radio graphic testing, rust removal and Automatic shot blasting and Hydro-static test etc. If it has not been used for more than a month, it is necessary to clean up the pipe fittings and interior of the storage tank, and perform air pressure detection and water pressure detection to ensure that the storage tank is in good condition before use. There is always trace residual gas in the LPG tank, and the residual liquid should not exceed 3% of the tank volume.
