LNG storage tanks are generally divided into vertical and horizontal types as LNG storage devices. The advantages of vertical tanks mainly lie in their smaller footprint, and the requirements for tank cofferdams and safety spacing are smaller than those for horizontal LNG storage tanks when building vertical LNG storage tank gasification stations, so they are chosen by business users.

When we manufacture LNG cryogenic storage tanks, in order to ensure that the air pressure inside the tank is normal, in addition to the vacuum between the inner and outer layers, we also take the top of the tank to keep it cold and the bottom of the tank to burst the cold.

1 Inner tank wall
The inner tank wall is the main component of the cryogenic storage tank and is made of low temperature resistant steel plates with good mechanical properties welded together.

LNG storage tanks and pipes are made of austenitic stainless steel. Austenitic stainless steels have excellent low temperature properties. But the linear expansion coefficient is high. under the temperature conditions of liquefied natural gas The shortening rate of stainless steel is about 3/1000, and for the 304L material pipeline, when the working temperature is -162 degrees, the 100 m pipeline can be shortened about 300 mm.
