Role of Safety Valves

Safety valves play a pivotal role in LPG storage tanks, with their primary functions including:

  1. Overpressure Protection: Safety valves can monitor changes in the internal pressure of the storage tank. If the pressure exceeds the preset safety range, the safety valve activates immediately, releasing excess gas to prevent tank explosions or damage.
  2. Temperature Control: Elevated temperatures can lead to the evaporation and expansion of LPG, increasing internal tank pressure. Safety valves control pressure, effectively preventing hazardous situations caused by temperature fluctuations.
  3. Prevention of Vacuum Formation: After the extraction or consumption of LPG, a vacuum may form inside the tank, leading to tank deformation or collapse. Safety valves prevent the formation of a vacuum, maintaining the structural integrity of the tank.
