Cryogenic storage tank structure classification

By Manager
Date: Sep 15, 2020
①Bimetal type: The inner tank and outer shell of the cryogenic storage tank are constructed of metal materials. The inner tank is made of cryogenic resistant stainless steel or aluminum alloy, and the outer shell is made of pressure vessel steel.
②Film type: The inner cylinder of this type of cryogenic storage tank is made of 36Ni steel with a thickness of 0.8~1.2mm.
③Prestressed concrete type: The inner tube of this type of low temperature storage tank is constructed of low temperature resistant metal materials, and the outer shell is constructed of prestressed concrete.

Cryogenic storage tank structure classification:
①Vertical storage tank: 100m3 small vertical LNG storage tank is used as gas injection equipment for automobiles.
②Vertical composite storage tank: Usually, more than 3 sub-tanks are connected in parallel to form an inner tank to meet the requirements of storing large-capacity liquid storage. Its structure is that multiple sub-tanks (usually 3~7) are assembled side by side in a large outer tank (also called mother tank). The sub-tanks are usually vertical cylindrical, and the volume of each sub-tank is mostly 100~150m³. The outer tank is a cylindrical vertical flat-bottomed arch cover, mostly large pressure vessels with a volume of 300~1000m³ and a working pressure of 0.2~1.2MPa.
③Spherical storage tank: both the inner and outer tanks are spherical. Most are 200~1500m³, and the working pressure is 0.2~1.0MPa.
④Typical storage tanks for fully enclosed enclosure systems: above-ground extra-large storage tanks with a capacity of 80,000 m³, mostly used in LNG receiving terminal stations (maximum capacity is 200,000 mm³).
