Emergency measures after liquid leakage of carbon dioxide storage tank

After the liquid of the carbon dioxide storage tank leaks, measures must be taken in time to control it, because too high carbon dioxide concentration will reduce the partial pressure of oxygen in the air inhaled by the human body, causing hypoxia asphyxiation. The gas accumulates in the air to a concentration that can cause poisoning and suffocation. When employees need to work or enter this place by mistake, they may cause poisoning and suffocation.
 
The emergency measures are as follows: 
(1) Rescue personnel rushed to the scene wearing gas masks and antifreeze suits. If the cryogenic storage tank leaks, a certain number of spray guns can be organized to disperse and dilute the gas in the deposited floating tank area, and close to the pressure vessel tank area to determine the leakage location. If the leakage port is small, the flow rate is slow, and the leakage volume is small, it can be blocked. leak.

(2) When repairing personnel conduct leaks, they must be protected by spray guns; for leaks at the top of the storage tank, spray water should be used to stop the sinking gas and disperse it upwards to make it dispersed at a certain height.

(3) If the pipeline leaks or the tank body leaks, use externally sealed or bundled inflatable plugging tools to quickly plug the leak, or use metal screws and adhesives to screw, or use wooden wedges or hard rubber plugs. Blocked.
(4) After plugging the leak, continue to use the spray gun to disperse and dilute the leaking gas.

The physical properties of liquid carbon dioxide and liquid oxygen are not the same. Generally, the temperature of liquid carbon dioxide is -20℃, while the temperature of liquid oxygen is -186℃. The same point is that both are insulated storage tanks, including PU insulation or Double-layer vacuum insulation and heat preservation. However, the requirements for the inner material of the carbon dioxide storage tank are not as high as that of the liquid oxygen storage tank. After all, the temperature is not as low as liquid oxygen. The other is the design pressure. The design pressure of the carbon dioxide tank truck is generally 2.0-2.5Mp, and The liquid oxygen tank truck is generally 0.8-1.6Mp. 

According to the provisions of 6.3.2.1 of GB18442 "Cryogenic Insulated Pressure Vessels", "the effective volume shall not exceed 95% of the geometric volume", so the filling coefficient is below 0.95. Now most manufacturers of cryogenic pressure vessels take a range of 0.9 to 0.95. You can also choose this way. The lower the filling factor, the larger the gas phase space, which is relatively safer. However, to achieve a fixed effective volume, the geometric volume will be larger and the material consumption will be a little bit higher.
