Precautions when designing cryogenic storage tanks

Cryogenic storage tanks are widely used in industrial fields, and cryogenic storage tanks can be seen in many places. The performance of this kind of low-temperature storage tank is so good because it is designed with care and has many requirements. So, what are the precautions when designing cryogenic storage tanks?
 
There should be a good drainage trench and dilution device around the site where the cryogenic storage tank is placed. If the liquid level of the storage tank cannot be controlled, an overflow should be installed on the storage tank to prevent the liquid from overflowing and causing unnecessary damage. When the liquid inlet and discharge flow of the storage tank is large, the corresponding flow vent should be installed. When changing the liquid to be filled, you should know whether the cryogenic storage tank is allowed for the liquid. If necessary, you can check the company's website or contact the company's technical department.
 
If there is a joint or flange connection in the lower part of the low-temperature storage tank, the pipe should be perpendicular to the wall of the barrel. Use a soft connection to avoid uneven expansion of the barrel wall after it is filled with liquid, resulting in damage to the joint connection and leakage, or damage to the joint and barrel . When the liquid inlet is higher from the bottom of the tank, the liquid inlet should be bent to the wall of the low-temperature storage tank to allow the incoming liquid to fall along the wall of the tank to reduce the impact on the bottom.
 
1. Anti-corrosion measures should be taken when designing the storage tank; the anti-corrosion project of the storage tank should be designed, constructed and put into use at the same time as the main project.
 
2. When using coating protection, the design life of the anti-corrosion coating of the storage tank should not be less than 7 years.
 
3. For storage tanks with a tank diameter of not less than 8m, in addition to coating the outer surface of the floor with anti-corrosion coating, cathodic protection can be considered, and the design life of cathodic protection is not less than 20 years.
