Factors that cause excessive pressure in cryogenic storage tanks

By Manager
Date: Oct 21, 2020
The frequent problems of cryogenic storage tanks are that the pressure is too high, the vacuum degree of the equipment back and the way of dispersion, and the improper measurement of the cryogenic storage tank will cause the pressure of the cryogenic storage tank to be too high.

Vertical or horizontal double-layer vacuum insulated storage tanks used to store liquid oxygen, nitrogen, argon, carbon dioxide and other media are called cryogenic storage tanks. Liquid gas must be stored in cryogenic storage tanks. The cryogenic storage tank is usually composed of an internal storage tank and an external storage tank, and a thermal insulation material is installed between the internal storage tank and the external storage tank.

During the planning process of cryogenic storage tanks, because the cryogenic medium in the storage tank has a conductive effect, the foundation soil is easy to freeze and swell, and the soil is lifted, thereby forming root damage. In order to solve this shortcoming, in addition to the insulation of the bottom surface and the bottom of the tank, the bottom of the storage tank should be antifreeze. There are usually two methods. One is to use electric heating or other heating systems at the bottom, that is, a circulating heating system is provided at the bottom of the raft. Another method is to select the bottom of the foundation to be high in the sky, and to separate the foundation from the foundation soil by the air layer formed by the overhead.

The design and manufacture of cryogenic storage tanks can be described from three aspects: planning into internal and external bile structures to reduce conduction. Vacuum in the middle layer to reduce convection. The interlayer is filled with insulating material to reduce radiation.

Before filling the cryogenic storage tank, first check whether the shell is recessed and the vacuum exhaust port is intact. If damaged, the vacuum will drop. In severe cases, the intake air cannot be kept warm, causing frost on the upper part of the storage tank, causing large liquid loss and losing the value of continued use. Second, check the inside of the cryogenic storage tank. If there is a foreign body, it must be removed to prevent the inner tank from being corroded.
