Principles of safe transportation of LNG Dewar bottles

By Manager
Date: Aug 07, 2020
1. The means of transportation must be safe and reliable. Compared with common metal Dewar carts, the all-plastic Dewar cart does not produce frictional sparks, corrosion, noise, and maintenance during transportation. In addition, the fully plastic Dewar cart has a stronger push function, better balance and better operability than the metal Dewar. Lightweight, effortless and durable. It can be suitable for any road surface, and the diameter for carrying Dewar bottles can be as high as 31 cm.

2. Must wear bottle caps (except Dewar with protective cover), shock-proof ring (except container Dewar), lightly load and unload, do not throw, slip, roll, touch.

3. When hoisting, it is strictly prohibited to use electromagnetic crane and metal chain rope.

4. Dewar flasks that may cause combustion, explosion, and poisoning due to contact with the gas in the bottle must not be transported in the same vehicle (carriage); Dewar bottles are shipped together.

5. Dewar bottles should be properly secured when transported by vehicles. When placed upright, the height of the carriage should be more than 2/3 of the height of the bottle. When laying down, the valve end of the bottle should face one side, and the stack height should not exceed five layers and should not exceed the height of the carriage.

6. Shading facilities should be provided for transportation in summer to avoid exposure to sunlight; daytime transportation should be avoided in prosperous urban areas.
7. When transporting flammable gas Dewar bottles, fireworks are strictly prohibited. Fire-fighting equipment should be provided on the means of transport.

8. Vehicles and ships transporting Dewars must not park near prosperous urban areas, densely populated schools, theaters, large shops, etc.; when vehicles and ships are parked, drivers and escorts must not leave at the same time.

9. Dewar cylinders containing liquefied petroleum gas must not be transported more than 50 kilometers away.

10. The transportation of gas-filled Dewar should strictly abide by the regulations of dangerous goods transportation.

11. The transportation company should formulate emergency response measures for accidents, and the driver and escort should handle it correctly.
