Precautions for the first use of liquid argon storage tanks

By Manager
Date: Jul 29, 2020
The position of liquid argon storage tanks in the chemical industry must be obvious to all, mainly because the use of a high vacuum refrigerator for storing liquid argon saves a large part of labor. For users who use liquid argon storage tanks for the first time, it is not only difficult to use but also prone to accidents. However, for those who use liquid argon storage tanks for the first time, only the following preparations can avoid dangerous accidents. Follow the jianshen tank one below. Get up and understand:

1. Inspection before use of liquid argon storage tank
When the liquid argon storage tank is filled with liquid argon, the first thing to do is to check whether the shell is recessed and the vacuum exhaust port is intact. If it is damaged, the vacuum will be reduced. In severe cases, the intake air cannot be kept warm, the upper part of the storage tank will be frosted, and the loss of liquid argon will be large, and there will be no further use value.

2. Filling of liquid argon
Be careful when filling liquid argon. New tanks or storage tanks in a dry state should be filled slowly and pre-cooled to prevent damage to the inner tank too quickly and reduce the service life. When filling liquid argon, please do not pour the liquid argon on the vacuum exhaust port, so as not to cause the vacuum to drop.

3. Transportation of liquid argon in liquid argon storage tanks
When storing liquid media in liquid argon tanks, be sure to close the inlet/discharge valve and booster valve, and open the vent valve. When transporting the liquid argon medium in the liquid argon tank, be sure to ensure that the switch status of each valve should be the same as that during storage, and please pad the base of the packing box under the circle of the container seat, and secure the liquid argon tank container to the car with a rope. Make the liquid argon tank not shake during transportation.

4. Infusion of liquid argon in a liquid argon tank
Close the vent valve; open the booster valve; observe the pressure gauge; when the pressure rises to 0.05MPa (0.5kg/cm2), open the drain valve, that is, continuous infusion.

5. Inspection during use
Always check during use. You can observe with your eyes or touch the shell with your hands. If you find frost on the outside, the liquid argon tank should be stopped; especially when the inner wall of the neck tube is frosted and icy, it is not suitable to scrape it with a knife to prevent the inner wall of the neck tube from being damaged. The vacuum is not good, but the liquid argon should be taken out and allowed to melt naturally.
